2017 JOSEPHS®@TAIWAN Innovative Entrepreneurship Workshop

2017.05.12

JOSEPHS® is a joint-developed program by Fraunhofer and Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg(FAU). The program is funded by Germany government – Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology.  JOSEPHS® provides an open innovative platform for co-development between customers, manufacturers, and designers. The uniqueness of this platform is that the new products and services are tested in an open environment instead of a closed laboratory environment. JOSEPHS® not only helps companies to take users’ preferences and customers’ experiences into consideration in the early stage of products/services development, we can also position JOSEPHS® as a platform that helps participants, customers, and manufacturers to co-create and co-develop the best combination which accords to users’ preferences, practicability, crafts, designs and specifications.

  • Prof. Mitchell M. Tseng from International School of Technology and Management, Feng Chia University and Dr. Albrecht Fritzsche from Josephs®, Fraunhofer Institute coleaded the workshop. The participants would need to find out the solutions for the sample problems during their experiences in designing product prototypes. According to Josephs®’s concept, we need individual innovation and creativity, and learn to make use of the opinions from external participants and external resources in the era of Internet of Things to widen the product values.
  • During this workshop event, we can find students from the industries, college students, professors from different universities, and personnel from government institutions. We broke students from diverse backgrounds into groups during the workshop, hence they came up with more creative ideas and innovative design of products. The students were asked to bring their products outdoor to do interview with the public so that they could revise the idea and design of the products during the three days, making their creative ideas closer to the public need. Upon the end of the activities, the students responded well and they have better understanding on the spirits and practices on innovative entrepreneurship.
