Purdue University is a world-renowned, public research university that advances discoveries in science, technology, engineering and math, and routinely ranks highly in accredited national and world university rankings. Purdue University is also a member of the Association of American Universities and the Big Ten Conference. Purdue University is recognized for academic excellence, meaningful research, and graduate achievement. After graduating from FCU-Purdue program, two degrees will be awarded: Bachelor of Science by FCU and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering by Purdue University.

In the former-two-year study, students will study foundational and core courses in electrical and computer engineering at Feng Chia University. Upon completion of all program requirements, students continue their studies at Purdue University in the 3rd and 4th year. Students are free to choose their own professional area of specialization – Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering at Purdue based on their aptitudes and preferences.
While staying at FCU, students must meet:
1. Accumulated GPA at least 3.5
2. TOFEL iBT overall score 88 (with at least 20 in each four components), or IELTS 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each of the four components).
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students will be awarded the following degrees:
A. Feng Chia University Bachelor of Science
B. Purdue University Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering
Graduates of this program will be eligible to apply for the 12-month F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) visa as well as the 24-month OPT extension for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) degree holders. OPT visa holders can only undertake work directly related to their major area of study.
This program is created in response to the high market demand of Taiwan and the United States in the electrical and computer engineering profession. The design of curriculums is industry-relevant so that students can quickly apply their knowledge and skills at work. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, between 2012 and 2022, job opportunities in the US for computer-related technology will increase by 15%. Purdue Engineering graduates have high employment rate with good average starting salary. The annual salary of electrical and computer engineers can be as high as 100,000 US dollars.
Electrical and computer engineering graduates can find jobs in most engineering sectors. These include the electronics, consumer goods, aerospace, biomedical, game industry, electric automotive and software industry.
