After graduating from FCU-Purdue program, two degrees will be awarded: Bachelor of Science by FCU and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering by Purdue University.

In the first and second year, students will study foundational and core courses in electrical and computer engineering at FCU. Upon completion of all program requirements and accumulate GPA at least 3.5, in their first two years, students continue their studies at Purdue in the third and fourth year. Students will choose their own professional area of specialization – Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering at Purdue based on their aptitudes and preferences.
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students will be awarded the following degrees:
A. Bachelor of Science by FCU; and
B. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering by Purdue University
Graduates of this program will be eligible to apply for the 12-month F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) visa as well as the 24-month OPT extension for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) degree holders. OPT visa holders can only undertake work directly related to their major area of study.
This program is created in response to the high market demand of Taiwan and the United States in the electrical and computer engineering profession. The design of curriculums is industry-relevant so that students can quickly apply their knowledge and skills at work. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, between 2012 and 2022, job opportunities in the US for computer-related technology will increase by 15%. Purdue Engineering graduates have high employment rate with good average starting salary. The annual salary of electrical and computer engineers can be as high as 100,000 US dollars.
Electrical and computer engineering graduates can find jobs in most engineering sectors. These include the electronics, consumer goods, aerospace, biomedical, game industry, electric automotive and software industry.
