FCU-SJSU Undergraduate Program – Associate Dean of SJSU’s Lucas College and Graduate School of Business visited Feng Chia University

Malu Roldan, the associate dean of SJSU’s Lucas College and Graduate School of Business visited Feng Chia University on 10th -11th January, 2017. She was warmly received by President Dr. Bing-Jean Lee and exchanged views on intercollegiate cooperation during her two days visit. Dr. Malu Roldan met Dean and Chair Prof. Mitchell M. Tseng, Vice Dean and Associate Prof. Eric Kuo-Hao Tang from International School of Technology and Management, Distinguished Prof. Cathy W. S. Chen, Head of the SJSU-FCU Dual-Degree Bachelor’s Program in Business Analytics and fellow professors from the department to plan and discuss related courses and details, she also met the students from the department on 11th January, 2017.

  • Dr. Roldan introduced the location of San Jose State University, saying that it is located in the South Bay Area, San Francisco, California, with world leading transnational corporates and high-tech industries in the neighborhood, such as Google, Apple, Facebook, Cisco, HP, Intel etc. The students of FCU-SJSU Undergraduate Dual Degree Program would enjoy conveniences whether in studies, internships or jobs when they reach SJSU. SJSU’s Lucas College and Graduate School of Business (LCoB) and FCU’s College of Business (including College of Finance and International School of Technology and Management) accredited with AACSB. Dr. Roldan stressed that there are no more than 5 percent of the world’s business schools have earned the AASCB Accreditation. She also mentioned there are more than 450 graduates who have worked in the position of CFOs (Chief Financial Officers). The Student Success Center provides consulting services, career development, learning communities, and technical trainings. There are 13 majors in the undergraduates programs with similar curriculum in the first two years. The students of FCU-SJSU Undergraduate Dual Degree Program focus their majors in Business Analytics but are allowed to declare themselves into the other 12 majors. All the students were encouraged through their interactions and question section with Dr. Roldan.
  • Students of SJSU-FCU Dual-Degree Bachelor’s Program in Business Analytics will complete 2-year curriculum at Feng Chia University and San Jose State University respectively. Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students will be awarded the following degrees two bachelor degrees.
  • San Jose State University is located in Silicon Valley, and is known as “Silicon Valley’s number one source of graduates in education, engineering, computer science and business”. The institute places a focus in students’ speaking, writing, critical thinking and mathematical ability. In order to synchronize the content with SJSU, the program specially invited full professors from San Jose State University to teach speaking and writing courses during this summer vacation.
