The Freshman Projects at ISTM,FCU

The Freshman Camp at Feng Chia University for 2024 were held from September 2nd to September 4th. Nearly 160 new students from the six programs of the ISTM actively participated in the camp. The three-day event includes a variety of activities such as a freshman ceremony, a club expo, campus orientation, a freshman concert, freshman projects, and project presentations.

The Freshman Projects integrate and extend learning into core courses and incorporate SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) topics, combined with AI digital tools from the School of Creative Technologies. Led by Professor Liang, Professor Hsu, and Professor Dean, the projects are designed using the CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) approach, allowing freshmen to experience a different classroom approach compared to high school and learn how to study effectively in college.

These three days of activities help students from various programs get to know each other at the start of the new academic year and join hands in embarking on a wonderful university life.
