2024.06.28

Following their collaboration on a dual bachelor's degree programme in business, Feng Chia University's International School of Technology and Management (ISTM) and the University of Queensland (UQ) will further deepen their academic ties and expand into other academic fields. To promote bilateral cooperation, a group of students and professors from UQ's School of EAIT visit Feng Chia University's ISTM from 28th June to 2nd July 2024, under the New Colombo Plan, to engage in academic and cultural exchange activities.

During the visit, the UQ EECS delegation will participate in a series of meticulously arranged activities by ISTM, including visits to the semiconductor industry and AI robotics workshops. These activities aim to foster interdisciplinary learning and cultural exchange. The programme seeks to enrich participants' educational experiences through practical workshops and opportunities for networking.

Professor Shaun Chen, leading the UQ EECS delegation, expressed high expectations for this exchange. He noted that this initiative not only plays a crucial role in promoting a global perspective and advancing innovation in electrical engineering education but also lays a solid foundation for similar future activities between the two institutions.

The New Colombo Plan is a significant initiative by the Australian Government, designed to support Australian students in studying and undertaking internships in the Indo-Pacific region. By fostering cultural awareness and personal connections, the programme aims to strengthen Australia's relationships with the region. Feng Chia University's ISTM currently collaborates with several renowned Australian universities and is committed to promoting the exploration of Taiwanese academics and culture to Australian students.
