Pre-departure talk by Michael Chen, Regional Manager (Greater China), Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Queensland (UQ)
⠀Michael Chen, Regional Manager (Greater China), Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Queensland (UQ), gave a pre-departure talk today to students who are about to study at UQ. The attendees included students from various programs who plan to study at UQ in the future, as well as first-year students currently enrolled in the UQ Program in Business.
⠀⠀Mr. Chen also shared his own experience at the Business School at the University of Queensland and offered several suggestions to the students. Firstly, they should understand their goals and directions and choose courses and research areas that suit them. Secondly, they should actively participate in campus and social activities to expand their network and communication circles. Finally, they should maintain an open-minded and positive learning attitude, constantly learning and improving.
⠀⠀Moreover, Mr. Chen shared some practical tips on daily life, such as the areas and environment of on-campus and off-campus accommodation, the main transportation methods for University of Queensland students, etc., to help students adapt to local life quickly when they arrive.
⠀⠀The students showed a high level of interest and concern regarding Mr. Chen's speech, and raised questions and suggestions one after another. They expressed their sincere gratitude for the sharing and advices, and vowed to make sufficient preparations and psychological adjustments before going abroad, strive to learn and progress, and become outstanding international students and future talents.
⠀⠀This pre-departure lecture not only provided valuable experience and advice for the students but also demonstrated the teaching level and philosophy of the Business School of the University of Queensland, providing strong support and assurance for the students' study abroad journey.
