The first critical thinking debate competition
An important corner stone in the education of every ISTM student is the 'Critical Thinking' course in which two important skills are sharpened: Fluency in English communication, and the ability to craft and defend professional judgments and evaluations based on good reason and logic argumentation. In this semester, for the first time, ISTM's Critical Thinking classes competed in a debate competition and demonstrated their great progress in language and thinking! On January 9th, student teams discussed whether it is legitimate to claim that everybody should be vegetarian, and elaborated on the pros and cons of university education as market service or as public service. The quality of the presented arguments and the dedication with which the contestants presented their rhetoric and argumentative skills show that the tedious efforts that students spend on the Critical Thinking classes definitely pay off!
- Congratulations to the winning teams!
