For the past few years, “Intellectual Machinery Industry” has become the newest trend for the manufacturing industry. It is aimed to create value, namely to bring a revolution in the manufacturing technology to meet customers’ needs. To inspire creativity, to explore new technology, and to nurture new entrepreneurs with international perspective, International School of Technology and Management (ISTM), Feng Chia University collaborated with JOSEPHS®, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität to hold “JOSEPHS®@TAIWAN Innovative Entrepreneurship Workshop” which took place at Wen Hwa Innovative Center between Oct 7-9,2016.

  • This intellectual machinery industry workshop with a value-creating venture mode has received good responses from the industries and university teams.  With a integrated reality teaching approach, the core spirit of intellectual machinery industry’s value-creating venture mode is introduced through practical phases including observation of consuming behavior, product development, prototype design, economic analysis, prototype test, leading the members to combine E-commerce and Taiwan industrial manufacturing. HIWIN team from the industry said: “This course has helped us to inspire a different perspective to think, we will think from multi dimensions when developing a new product in the future, reducing the frequency of failure and redo”, “the related issues seen in workplaces are brought into the discussions, combining the course and practice”.  Hsieh from National Formosa University indicated: “The course does not adapt a traditional teaching style, it sparks different ideas and perspectives as I get to do and learn at the same time”, while Liu from National Sun Yat-sen University said: “I had three fruitful days through group discussions and presentations”.

  • After three days of curriculum implementation and discussions, and modification of products, six groups of members raised their own original ideas of creativity and innovation respectively. Through team entrepreneurship activity and customers’ feedbacks, each group finished their basic enterprising mode and formal presentation. In the end, team HIWIN from the HIWIN company got the first place while Ilha Formosa, a team composed of different students coming from south area universities, won the first runner-up, and the second runner-up was team Infinite, students of ITSM, FCU.
