ISTM Offers Calculus Enhancement Program to Strengthen Students’ Academic Foundation

2025.12.05

To help students improve their mathematical skills, the International School of Technology and Management (ISTM) launched a Calculus Enhancement Program this semester. The course, taught by Professor Shaw-Jyh Shin, runs from September 10 to December 17, every Wednesday evening, and has attracted approximately 35 participants.

Mathematics is a fundamental pillar for fields such as Electrical and Computer Engineering and Business. Insufficient mathematical foundations can hinder students’ understanding of advanced courses, affect academic performance, and even reduce interest in learning. This freshman-level Calculus Enhancement Program aims to reinforce students’ comprehension of calculus concepts beyond the regular English-taught course, familiarize them with technical terms in both Chinese and English, and build solid knowledge and logical reasoning skills to ensure smooth progression into future specialized courses.

ISTM remains committed to providing diverse learning resources. Through programs like this, the school strives to help students thrive in an international learning environment and develop strong professional competencies.
