FCU-SJSU Undergraduate 2+2 Program in Business Analytics

San Jose State University (SJSU) was founded in 1857, and is the oldest public school of higher education in the state, fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the California State Board of Education. SJSU is the founding campus of the 23-campus California State University System, the largest, most diverse, and one of the most affordable university systems in the country.
Business analytics focuses on developing new insights and understanding of business performance based on data and statistical methods. It is intended for business to identify values from big data and to apply those findings to real-world business. For example, one can understand consumer’s behavior, lifestyle, and media consumption habits from the ever-accumulating data. Business analytics provides an objective approach to evaluate, make recommendations to put forward strategies that will improve business performance. It allows business to design and market their products and services that meet consumers’ needs and preferences.
FCU-SJSU Undergraduate 2+2 Program in Business Analytics is a cross-disciplinary program, developing students’ business-related knowledge and skills such as statistics and information technology, and at the same time, building their skills in data management and analysis. Students will learn how to derive business value from mass of data and apply in making prediction and business decisions and create business advantages. Students will complete 2-year core curriculum in business (microeconomics, macroeconomics, managerial accounting, financial accounting, etc.), quantitative methods (calculus, statistics, etc.) and information technology (computer tools for business, APPS, MATLAB, etc.) at Feng Chia University. In the 3rd and 4th year, students will study at SJSU and take advanced required courses and elective courses offered by Business Analytics major. Students may also choose to transfer to one of the 11 Business Concentrations to fit their own interests.
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students will be awarded the following degrees:
A. Bachelor of Business Administration by FCU
B. BS - Business Administration, Concentration in Business Analytics by SJSU
Graduates of this program will be eligible to apply for the 12-month F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) visa. OPT allows the successful applicants to undertake work directly related to their major area of study.
